Comments
When you submit a comment, WordPress stores the information entered in the comment form, together with your IP address and browser information to support moderation and spam prevention. Approved comments and your chosen display name are public. Your email address is not displayed with your comment. Please do not include private information in the comment itself.
An anonymised value derived from your email address may be sent to Gravatar to display your avatar. If available, that image is shown alongside an approved comment. See the Automattic privacy policy for details of that service.
Cookies
If you choose to save your details when commenting, WordPress uses cookies to remember your name, email address and website for one year. You can leave that option unticked and manage or remove cookies through your browser.
The login page checks cookie support using a temporary cookie that ends when you close your browser. For authorised users, login cookies normally last two days, or two weeks when Remember Me is selected; display preferences last one year. Logging out removes login cookies. Editing or publishing content can set a cookie containing the post ID for one day.
Security and hosting
Our hosting and security tools process technical information, including IP addresses and requests to the site, to deliver pages, investigate errors and protect against abuse. Wordfence Security is active on this website. Relevant security data may be processed by its provider, Defiant, as described in the Wordfence privacy policy. Access to site administration is restricted to authorised users.
Embedded content and other websites
If an article contains an embedded video or other third-party content, that provider may receive information about your visit and use its own cookies, as if you had visited its website. Following an external link takes you to a site with its own privacy practices.
Retention and your information
Comments and their associated information are stored in WordPress unless removed. All new comments require manual approval. Authorised account profiles are retained for site administration; public registration is disabled. Information may also remain in security records or backups according to the relevant service’s retention arrangements.
You can request a copy or removal of personal information held in WordPress about your account or comments, subject to information that must be retained for administrative, legal or security reasons. The Contact page explains the currently available feedback route. Do not post sensitive information publicly when raising a privacy question.

We will revise this page when the site’s features or data practices change. This notice describes the current blog setup and does not imply that unrelated third-party websites follow the same practices.
